Equal Opportunities in Cooperatives: Values and Competitiveness

Legacoop implements initiatives and services to raise awareness and encourage cooperatives toward concrete actions for gender equality. These initiatives and services have achieved significant goals.

Gender equality
as a social and economic driver

Equal opportunities are framed within the values of cooperation and foster growth dynamics.

Values. Supporting equal opportunity policies and ensuring the same possibilities for personal and professional growth for everyone stems from the fundamental principles of cooperation, such as equity, solidarity, and mutuality.

Development Starter. This approach not only reflects our core values but also strengthens competitiveness and innovation. By promoting an inclusive and diverse environment, we can leverage a wide range of perspectives and ideas, improving productivity and stimulating creative solutions to problems.

What we do to promote Equal Opportunities

Tools and sharing to monitor, stimulate, and support

Over the years, we have committed ourselves to ensuring that gender equity percentages within cooperatives are higher at every level, in order to create balanced work environments.

Equal Opportunities Commission

The process of valorizing female capital is a point of strength. The Equal Opportunities Commission manages activity plans for surveying the female presence in associated enterprises and contributes to defining governance guidelines for businesses and associative structures.

Guidelines

We have introduced guidelines to facilitate entry and gender equality within representative bodies and management organisms.

Quality Label

The promoted activities have led to the adoption of a Legacoop quality label for enterprises committed to equal opportunity policies.

Network

We have supported the creation of networks, both virtual and physical, with the aim of creating the roles of “development agents for equal opportunity policies.”

Real actions, concrete goals

Good practices, ethical certifications, GED label

The steps forward have been numerous. Among the most important is the regional agreement on harassment and violence in the workplace, which recognizes the need to valorize the adoption of good practices by employers. These good practices also take the form of pathways toward the recognition of ethical certifications and the assignment of the GED label (Gender equality and diversity label) provided for by Art. 30 of Regional Law 6/2014. The ultimate goal is to guarantee the protection of male and female workers from any direct or indirect form of harassment and violence and to foster a broader vision of the issue of equal opportunities..
