Echoes of Cooperation: Stories of Innovation and Mutuality
Cooperatives are much more than just a business model: they are communities that put people, work, and local territories at the center. Sharing their experiences means championing an economic vision built on mutuality, sustainability, and inclusion.
Through our podcasts, we want to give this reality a voice and address the questions that challenge us and drive us to innovate. Cooperation is not just an established model: it is a living laboratory where solutions are tested to build a fairer, more equitable, and pluralistic future. Why a podcast about cooperation? Through these episodes, we want to explore cooperative experiences and listen to the stories of those working to transform values into concrete actions. We talk about mutuality and innovation, environmental and social sustainability, work and inclusion, and collective memory. Sharing the stories of cooperatives is important, but it is equally vital to listen to the people who live them every day. Our podcasts are designed to spark an open dialogue with members, workers, businesses, and institutions, so that cooperation is not just talked about, but shared and built together. We believe that giving cooperatives a voice means contributing to a cultural shift: promoting a new awareness of the importance of economic models that are more human, more responsible, and closer to people’s real needs.

Memories of the People
A podcast produced by Legacoop Estense and created by the Cumbre Altre Frequenze collective, with the participation and historical consultancy of Antonella Guarnieri from the Museum of the Risorgimento and the Resistance of Ferrara. This audio narrative covers the years between 1870 and 1922 in the province of Ferrara. It spans from the major mechanized land reclamations to the agrarian struggles of day laborers, and from Socialist electoral victories to the pact between Mussolini and Italy’s most powerful landowners. It explores Ferrara as the cradle of the regime, where fascism and agrarian squadrismo (fascist squad violence) were born, targeting the Case del Popolo (People’s Houses) as their ideal victims. The podcast features a collage of voices gathered over recent months, shedding light on tragic events that remain virtually unknown to most and are unfortunately missing from our social and collective memory.
