Community of Cooperative Managers and Executives

Strengthening the identity of cooperative leadership

Community of Cooperative Managers and Executives. Communities of practice for networking and knowledge sharing

We aim to engage groups of managers and executives from various cooperative backgrounds—spanning different sectors and territories, arising from shared training experiences, or linked to specific mutualistic pacts—to foster networking and the creation of communities of practice. In the face of the changes cooperatives will confront, it is essential to strengthen the identity and leadership styles of executives and managers to define their unique cooperative distinctiveness.Building and coordinating these communities of practice must enable the exchange and sharing of diverse experiences, fostering a common identity that can stand alongside the managerial identities of other corporate models.

Why this project

Cooperatives have accumulated experience and consolidated both managerial and technical expertise, developing a cooperative mindset rooted in the democratic and participatory management of members and workers.

We need to build on this managerial knowledge developed over time and make it explicit, with a view to formalizing and further developing the skills that have been accumulated.

The objectives of the project

Establish communities of managers and executives, building on concrete experiences already underway or creating new ones, covering territorial and sectoral dimensions as well as those related to the various mutualistic pacts.

Create opportunities for networking and mutual learning among people and experiences from the various mutualistic pacts.

Develop a reflection on the role and characteristics of the new cooperative management.

Identify and analyze best practices, exchanging information and sharing initiatives.

Identify training and information needs, both specific to the various areas of expertise and common to the full range of managerial and executive profiles.

Act as “ambassadors” externally, fostering exchange with other forms of management and leadership.
