Education, training, and work experience are the three pillars underlying “human capital,” understood as the combination of knowledge and productive capabilities. For some time, cooperatives have been suffering from a skills mismatch between supply and demand. Research conducted by Demetra Formazione highlighted the presence of over 20 Academies within cooperatives in Emilia-Romagna.They represent one of the possible solutions to the need for building new skills and training existing ones, also by leveraging the knowledge already present within the cooperatives.Furthermore, there are several virtuous examples of supply-chain Academies in the Emilia-Romagna Region, such as Muner, the Automotive supply-chain Academy. The Region itself is interested in developing tools to attract talent and adapt skills to new production needs. The research carried out—and currently being updated—by Demetra Formazione provides the necessary information to define coordination and development initiatives for ongoing activities, and to implement joint actions by systematizing resources and best practices.
