Understanding what's at stake in the digital challenge
Faced with the impact of new digital technologies on the organization and activities of cooperatives, there is a need for information, training, and raising awareness of what is at stake for their development.
Recent surveys (including the national, regional, and local Business Outlook Survey) provide a picture of the difficulties cooperatives face in fully grasping the impact of new digital technologies. All cooperatives, even the most attentive and structured ones, must address the need to update their organizational models and internal skills.
Cooperatives need to be continuously provided with assessment tools and opportunities for discussion and information, aimed in particular at management teams, to help monitor, implement, and prepare cooperatives to face the future, taking into account how much the digital challenge can impact business production or the range of services offered.
At stake are the overall reorganization of the cooperative, the ability to harness the new knowledge economy stemming from the use of big data, and the social challenge of acquiring new skills without creating a digital divide between members and workers. This therefore requires the involvement not only of digital “specialists” but of the entire management team.
Through Innovacoop and in collaboration with the training body Demetra Formazione, Quadir, the Pico Foundation, and through specific agreements with Competence Centres and EDIHs (e.g. Birex), we have launched training programs on specific topics such as AI, Cybersecurity, the use of Big Data, and Cloud computing.
Thanks to our network, made up of universities, IFAB, Tecnopoli, and other organizations, we are supported by the best experts in developing our training programs.
