The project in Palestine, called TU.R.B.O – Tubas Rural Business Opportunities and social innovation was launched in 2016 by the GVC Onlus in agreement with the Governorate of Tubas, the Palestinian ONG Women Business Forum and in partnership with Legacoop Emilia-Romagna, Melpignano Community Cooperative, LattEmilia Cooperative and the Provincia Autonoma di Bolzano.
The project aims to strengthen the resilience of the Palestinian rural villages in the Jordan Valley. Specifically, the project is addressed to 19 communities in the Governorate of Tubas. The specific aim is improving and fostering a permanent position of the agricultural cooperative businesses in Palestine also through measures linking humanitarian aid, rehabilitation and inclusive development.
As a partner, Legacoop Emilia-Romagna supports the project with its experience in cooperative organization, governance and networking and it is part of the steering committee.
Legacoop’s experience within the TU.R.B.O project started in March 2017 and will last until February 2020. During this period, the implementation of the project foresees support by experts in the field, coaching activities and mentoring on community cooperatives.
