Legacoop Emilia-Romagna’s experience in the Mediterranean basin began in 2013, with the support for some development cooperation projects promoted by Bee Nexus Emilia Romagna and GVC, and continued with the support for other development cooperation projects.
The proposed initiatives provide a broad program of support for the local development of the Social and Solidarity Economy (ESS), favoring its acknowledgment and support within public policies renegotiated between civil society and institutions. The process of institutionalising the ESS in Tunisia is taking concrete form through a path of presentation of a draft organic law to the Parliamentary Assembly.
The many technical assistance activities of the projects are aimed at creating opportunities for income and decent work in particular for young people and women, in small communities. Moreover, Legacoop is supporting the definition of the legislation and encouraging the knowledge and confrontation with Italian legislation.
